Sangria
INGREDIENTS:
Makes 6 cups
4 cups (32floz/1 litre) light-bodied red wine
¾ cup (6fl oz/180 ml) Spanish or other brandy
½ cup superfine (caster) sugar
2 cups (16fl oz/ 500ml) soda water
1 orange, sliced
6-8 strawberries, halved (optional)
Mix wine, brandy and sugar, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Chill well.
Just before serving, add the soda water and fruit.
