Pepperoni pizza party loaf

The recipe is called ‘party’. You’re having a party. Start cooking! Recipe by Jamie Oliver in Jamie Cooks It Up!  Yields 5-6 servings. Easy to double – just buy another loaf.

INGREDIENTS​:
Meatballs:
  • 1 (14 ounce/400g) Tuscan Bread Loaf (or best artisan-style bread you can find)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (homemade is good!)
  • 1 cup mini pepperoni, sliced (or purchase pre-sliced)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning


DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat your oven to 375F/ 200C degrees.
  2. Slice the bread into 1inch/2cm strips, making sure not to cut all the way through to the bottom. Turn the bread and slice it in one-inch/1/2 cm strips, going the other direction. This will mean the bread is cut into handy “pull-apart” sizes.
  3. Place the bread on a baking sheet and carefully spoon the pizza sauce into the crevices of the bread.
  4. Tuck about 3/4 cup of the pepperoni slices into the crevices of the bread.
  5. Add the grated mozzarella cheese, tucking the cheese into as many crevices as possible, then sprinkle the rest over the top.
  6. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over.
  7. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the top and randomly place a few pepperoni pieces on top. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately and enjoy!
