Candy cane Christmas wreath

Candy canes aren’t just for eating. It can also be a wall decor or even a wreath. Create a flower-style wreath using your extra candy canes for instant colour and merriment. Attach a greeting, maybe a ‘Merry Christmas’, cut-out at the centre, hang it on your wall or your door and you’re all ready for Christmas.

Christmas tree centrepiece

If you have children coming over for the party, you must prepare this fun and quirky centrepiece for the little guests. Alternatively, you can even ask kids in your house to help you create this super fun and festive centrepiece. Materials needed include red foiled chocolate kisses or other foil-wrapped choc pieces, toothpicks, tape and scrapbook paper.

Candles in a box

This box centrepiece is one of the easiest to create. The boxes are available widely at discount stores. You just need to fill them with some pine sprigs, real or artificial, candles wrapped in textured paper  to create that soft glow, and perhaps a few small Christmas baubles or other decorations.

Orange tree topiary

This topiary, made by combining fresh citrus, cloves, and wood pine would look delightful anywhere in your home, on the table as a centrepiece or on the mantle or buffet. What you’ll love the most about this is the delicious scent it provides. Simply stud your oranges with cloves and then construct a circles with the oranges using toothpicks to secure them together.  Continue to build layers of oranges using the toothpicks to keep them in place.  Intersperse the layers with some sprigs of conifer and them place the finished topiary on a wreath of the same leaves on a round board or plate.

A fruity centrepiece

Did you know? There is an ancient Greek tradition, which involves eating pomegranates on the holy days, which includes Christmas as well? It seems that this table runner is made keeping the tradition in mind. If you cannot find real pomegranates, you can use fake pomegranates for this DIY Christmas table decoration.

Sequined Christmas Trees

These little Christmas trees have really taken our heart away. They are so easy and affordable and require just a handful of materials like glue, sequins, and some card. Just cut two, tree-shaped triangles from white card and make a slit from the top down to the centre of one card and from the bottom up to the centre on the other.  Glue your decorations to both sides of each card and then slide the two slits together to make a free standing tree.  Decorating your serviettes with ribbon and baubles will complete the look.

Hand Christmas Wreath

Create  decorations that your grandchildren can be involved in.  Get two or three colours of green card and trace their hand prints many times.  Cut out the hand shapes and stick them to a wire coat hangers stretched into a circle shape..  Tape the hand cutouts to the wire and then trim with ribbon to form a hanger, or use the coat hanger hook tied with some ribbon.
