2468 pudding

Here's a recipe from childhood that will bring back warm memories for many.  The delicious, cakey pudding with pouring custard is real comfort food and can be made these days with almost limitless variations.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 8 tbsp SR flour

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Alternate adding milk and flour with a spoon to form a thick batter.
  • Put into a pudding dish and bake at 180c until golden and cooked through.
  • ​Serve with cream, ice cream or custard.

Variation: add some fruit to the bottom, stir in some sultanas or choc chips, spoonfuls of jam and gently swirl through etc. There are so many variations that you can add to make it even more delicious!
