Food, food, food

A banana flower or blossom is one of the most nutritious, versatile ingredients that can be used in South Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines. Its mild flavour, similar to artichokes, goes fabulously in savoury stir-fries, mainly because of this taste... just like artichokes.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Banana flower (blossom) finely chopped
  • 1 Onion thinly sliced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Green chili, chopped
  • ½ Teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 Teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
  • Salt to taste
METHOD:
  1. Clean and chop the banana flower.
  2. Add coconut oil to a pan and mustard seeds to crackle.
  3. Add onions and garlic. Green chilli should be added and sauté until the onions turn translucent.

  5. Serve hot over rice or as a side dish.
